Internal Medicine is the medical specialty that addresses the adult patient holistically, especially when the disease affects multiple organs or systems simultaneously. The internist is the reference specialist for differential diagnosis in complex cases, management of multiple pathologies and coordination between different specialists.

At Fontanet Medicina i Fisioterapia, our internist performs comprehensive assessments of adult patients, with special attention to chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidemia, autoimmune diseases, thyroid conditions, anaemias and infectious processes. She also offers second medical opinions and preventive health check-ups.

The Internal Medicine consultation is especially useful for patients with multiple conditions who need a doctor to coordinate their overall treatment, avoiding drug interactions and duplication of diagnostic tests.
